The Princeton Folk Music Society has encouraged the growth of folk music in central New Jersey for 40 years. We sponsor a monthly house sing for members on the first Friday of each month and a monthly concert by visiting folk singers and songwriters, usually on the third Friday of each month. Jersey Jam is a friendly low key open jam format for all levels of singers and musicians. We meet at the Robin's Nest in Linden, NJ which is a Blues Club. The majority of the songs performed as a courtesy to the venue are blues based. We go off the reservation though to perform Jazz, R&B, Rock, Funk, and some original material in addition to the blues. I am a new Irish traditional music player (I play the fiddle and the concertina). I'm still new to both instruments having only been playing the fiddle for about a year and the concertina for about 2 years and I'm trying to find people in the greater Trenton area that are in the same situation.
