Folks,

Far be it from me to be negative but the weather forecast is looking worse each hour despite today's sunshine. I would rather not wait until the last minute to make the decision so all of you can plan your day tomorrow accordingly -- so I'm calling it a rain date.

So, here is my alternative -- back to my office. For those of you who have been, you know it seats 35 and not everyone shows. 200 Varick Street, corner of Varick and Houston (SOBs building, Houston St. stop on the #1 train.)

So, here is an idea -- We do away with chairs for all those that are comfortable with that idea, we put some blankets down on the floor and pretend it is the park. That will probably get us more seating. If you want to bring a pillow or two, by all means.

So, please come -- starting at 1:30 and there will be coffee, tea, wine, water and beer. Feel free to bring food or snacks for yourselves. As long as we all clean up afterwards, it will work.

I'm happy to get a whole bunch of bagels and cream cheese and we can split the cost at $5 a piece.

For those who want to come at the regular time -- 3PM -- that is fine too. We'll finish up at 5:30/6.

I hope there will be plenty more opportunities to meet in the park this summer.

Questions, ideas, etc. please email me or one of the assistant organizers.

And if you haven't done so, please upload any songs (with chords) you want to sing tomorrow -- to our website (click on File button on left)

Welcome to all the new folks -- we are a friendly interesting crowd -- really. And we welcome voices of all ages and skills and musicians of all kinds.

Since it's been a few months since I attended last, I'm really looking forward to it. However, with my back and spine, sitting on the floor would be uncomfortable for me so I'm bringing a foldup chair to sit on.

Will be my first time with this group - I sing harmony, sang doo wop in washington sq park for many years and miss it (but like everyone, was raised on folk music), so looking forward to singing again and having some fun.

You might also want to bring a beach chair, blanket or towel to sit on.

Everybody start praying/hoping/whatever you do for good weather! We've been pretty vocal about how much we like this group and how it is our very favorite meet-up and look forward to it all month, but sitting around in the park while we all sing would add a really great dimension.

Jean and I really like the indoor set up! A good balance between players and singers and with the extended hours we really get to explore a lot of songs

This group just gets better & better. We enjoy it so much, we have difficulty waiting a whole month for each meeting! This is our absolute hands-down favorite meetup. /db

Wonderful singing and songs today. It's the best! Thanks you Tammy for organizing the meetup!
    •  I really enjoyed myself. It's been a few months since I last attended so I really got into it. Another good point about this meetup is the flexibility in music - allowing leeway for moderate pop, ie., the Beatles, Cat Stevens, Crosby, Stills, etc. that may not quite fit into the "folk" genre. Everyone was friendly and appeared to enjoy the day as well.
    •  a wonderful experience

I had a great time. I loved the selections and people were really upbeat. Maybe it was the lovely Spring weather. Ho-hum.
    •  Was great too do the old numbers in company of good friends and good nosh food.Hope we can do it outdoors next time.!
    •  What a wonderful afternoon it was. I really enjoyed myself. I haven't sung with others in years and it felt so good just sitting around singing that great music again. Everyone was great fun to be with.

This was my first meeting with the group and I felt really comfortable with everyone there. It was friendly, low-key, and fun to sing as a group all those really great folk songs. I am looking forward to attending future meetings of this group!
