Introduction
I hosted the recently defunct (Feb. 2007, after 23 years) 'Dupont Music Circle' 1990-1999 and am missing the jamming. I hope to lug my unwieldy hammered dulcimer 'Chunga' and my trussful of harmonicas to the 19 May meeting, if there is one.
What are some of your favorite folk or folk-rock songs?

'In the Pines'; EC&Orna Ball:'Troubles,Trials, Tribulations'; Jesse Winchester:'Biloxi';'Sylvie'; FBB:'Sin City';Blind Blake:'Run Come See';'Banks of the Ohio'; Stan Rogers:'Tiny Fish for Japan'; Eliz.Cotten:'Shake Sugaree';Fairport:'Now Be Thankful'

Who's your #1 favorite folk or folk-rock performer?

No #1, & not sure who fits here, but: Belafonte; Helen Schneyer; Maria Muldaur; Ginny Hawker; Lisa Moscatiello; Emmylou; Tom Waits; Sweet Honey; Jimmie Rodgers; Dave Van Ronk; John Hartford; Stanley Bros.; Taj Mahal; David Bromberg; Richard Thompson

Do you play or are you learning a musical instrument? If so, which?

Chunga; harmonicas; chord zither; wax-paper comb; some keyboard. Failed at clarinet (during original childhood); gave up tin whistle for harmonica when I no longer had two hands free.

Have you ever performed music before an audience (not counting Karaoke or social jams)?

Yes, years and years ago... when there were wolves in Wales... when we sang and wallowed all night and day in caves that smelt like Sunday afternoons in damp front farmhouse parlours...

  •  Freddy, I love how you can play...and sing... anything and everything, in any key!!!

  •  Famous Freddy has become a sort of backbone for our group. Talk about MVPs! His impeccable hammered dulcimer playing adds a wonderful dimension to our singing. Plus we can count on him to come week after week. Gotta love that loyalty! To top it off, he also plays a wistful harmonica and can sing harmonies!
